Approximately one hundred kilometers from Almaty lies a true open-air Buddhist temple. Locals refer to this picturesque place as the Tamgaly-Tas tract. On its rocks, you can see various petroglyphs depicting mysterious deities. Buddhist inscriptions are also carved into the rocks. People come here from different corners of the world to see the image of Buddha and the preserved sacred text in Sanskrit with words of blessing addressed to the lotus-born. To visit the Tamgaly-Tas tract in Kazakhstan, you need to travel 100 km north of Almaty.

The attraction is located on the bank of the Ili River, which is considered the largest waterway in the Semirechye region. Along the left bank stretches an endless steppe, transitioning into the Moyinkum Desert. To the right of the tract begins the Malaisary Ridge. In the spring, people from Almaty come here to collect white steppe mushrooms. Enjoy a meal in nature with shashlik, hot tea, and beverages.

The areas in this region are famous for their stunning views that are impossible to take your eyes off. You can visit at any time of the year, but for experiencing the mysterious natural attraction, it is best to choose spring or autumn.

- 07:30 - Pickup of tourists from the hotel by a jeep truck.
- 09:00 - Arrival at the city of nomads, exploring the area, taking photos, and enjoying a stroll through the surroundings.
- 12:30 - Stop at Kapchagay Dam for photos and videos.
- 13:30 - Arrival at Tamgaly-Tas, lunch, a tour of the petroglyphs, a walk along the Ili River, and photo opportunities. Free time.
- 17:30 - Arrival in Almaty.
